Welfare Activities

Monthly Ration Kit Distribution

As part of its ongoing welfare activities, Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, has been consistently distributing ration kits to support underprivileged families in various parts of Gujarat. Every month, around 200 ration kits are provided to needy households across the Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kutch, and Rajkot districts.

These ration kits contain essential food items such as rice, wheat flour, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, salt, and basic spices — enough to support a family for several days. The beneficiaries include daily wage earners, elderly individuals without support, and families struggling with financial hardship.

This initiative is driven by the Ashrama's core philosophy of serving God in man (“Daridra Narayana Seva”), inspired by the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. The work is sustained through the contributions of generous devotees, donors, and dedicated volunteers who ensure that the supplies reach those who need them most.

Each ration kit included the following items: 5 kg wheat, 3kg rice, 1 kg dal, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 1 litre edible oil, 250 gm tea powder, 100 gm turmeric powder, 100 gm chilli powder, 100 gm zera powder, 1 piece soap and 1 set of six matchstick-boxes.
