YoVivekananda Institute of Value Education & Culture: A three storied building - VIVEC organizes various programmes from local to international levels throughout the year, aiming to connect students and youth with the ideas of Swami Vivekananda. it endeavours to promote India's spiritual and cultural heritage among teachers, parents, and the general public.
VALUE EDUCATION ACTIVITIES
Value Education Programmes
Value Education programmes are organized regularly in the Ashrama for the students of different schools and colleges. The program includes various value-oriented activities by monks, volunteers, devotees, and experts of the educational field aimed at the holistic development of personalities of students based on the man-making and character-building teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Value Education activities for primary school students are conducted in the Children's library in the main Ashrama Campus and those for secondary school students and college students are conducted in the VIVEC Hall. The program starts with visit to the Temple of Shri Ramakrishna, meditation in the temple, visit to the Exhibition of Swami Vivekananda in the Ashrama campus, and visit to the Book Stall of the Ashrama. The students then assemble in the Children's Library or the VIVEC Hall where they listen to talks on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, watch value oriented video clippings, and interact on the
ideas shared with them. The teachers and students participating in the program share their feedback. The program ends with the reading of Swami Vivekananda's sayings. All the participants are given a book on Swami Vivekananda's Life & Teachings, and simple snacks at the end of the program which runs for about 2-3 hours. Swamis, devotees, and volunteers also visit educational institutions outside the Ashrama in the Value Education vehicles of the Ashrama equipped with books, exhibition, etc. and conduct value education activities in places near and far away from Rajkot all over the year. All the value education programmes are free of charge.
