The Ramakrishna Movement, inspired by
the lives and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada
Devi and Swami Vivekananda, comprises not only of the monks
of the Ramakrishna Order but also the thousands of lay devotees
who belong to all strata of the society.
The Ramakrishna Bhav Prachar Parishad is a wing of the Ramakrishna
Movement that comprises of the Centers run by the lay devotees.
It is a nationwide movement. They work under the guidance
of the nearby Ramakrishna Math and Mission Centers. A number
of such centers are also functioning in various regions of
Guajrat.
Spiritual Services
These centers mainly conduct regular worship of Bhagavan Sri
Ramakrishna. The birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi,
Swami Vivekananda and other incarnations are also celebrated.
Monks of the Ramakrishna Order often visit these centers and
deliver discourses on various religious topics. Spiritual
retreats are also arranged.
Cultural Services
Competitions, Seminars on Value Education and Personality
Development are regularly conducted for the students. They
also run bookstalls for spreading Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vedanta
literature. Balak Sangha is run in many of these centers to
impart values to the local children.
Philanthropic Services
These centers run charitable dispensaries, conduct occasional
relief activities during natural calamities and organize many
other philanthropic services. |
