Inspired by the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda , Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot is serving the poor people of the villages of Gujarat since its early years through various activities of dedicated service. The motto is ‘ SIVA JNANE JIVA SEVA’- to serve the ‘GOD IN MAN’.

The Ashrama is conducting rural medical activities since 1993. Every Sunday, under the banner of Shri Ramakrishna Seva Samiti, doctors with paramedical staff and volunteers along with teachers go to nearby villages in a Medical van. The villages where the team offers their service lack basic medical facilities. People from the other surrounding villages are also benefited. Medicines are given free of cost.

On average about 90 –100 patients are treated on every visit. After the primary treatment, the needy and poor patients are also offered further medical care through other medical services of the Ashrama like eye-care, physiotherapy unit etc.

During the trip, teachers and volunteers conduct value education classes for all-round development of rural students. The purpose is to enrich the life of the poor masses both in body and mind, offering medicine for their sick bodies and higher cultural and spiritual thoughts for their minds.

On average, the total expenses of the Vivekananda Mobile Dispensary runs to 3-4 Lakhs. ( Details furnished below)
