You must give your
body, mind, and speech to ‘the welfare of the world’.
…The poor, the illiterate, the ignorant, the afflicted-
let these be your God’.
Know that service to these alone is the highest religion. |

Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot has been
serving the suffering humanity through its various philanthropic
activities for about eight decades. The inspiration lies in
the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi
and Swami Vivekananda who were the embodiments of loving service
to all, irrespective of caste, colour and creed.
The Ideal is to serve the ‘GOD IN MAN’. The monks,
the devotees and the volunteers of the Ashrama who offer their
humble service in the Dispensary considers it to be a worship
of the DIVINITY that lies in ALL.
The Charitable Dispensary of the Ashrama known as Sri Ramakrishna
Aushadhalaya started long ago in 1937. The dispensary serves
the needy and poor patients of Rajkot city and its surrounding

Cerebral
Palsy Centre : Children with cerebral palsy disorder
were coming to the Physiotherapy Department for treatment.
Unfortunately, it was found that the basic quality-based facilities
for their treatment is lacking not only in Rajkot, but also
in the Saurashtra region. Guardians of these children have
to meet heavy financial expenses for their regular treatment.
The parents were also found to be quite unaware of the details
of this disease. They also suffer from psychological pressures.
Children with symptoms of Cerebral Palsy need special care
and technique to give them the basic ideas of hygiene, learning
and education.
The children attend the center twice or thrice in a week,
but they have to carry a regular exercise routine. So, the
center tries to train the parents simultaneously, so that
they can take personal care of the children also at their
homes. Regular counseling is also done of the guardians of
the children, in order to help them to cope with the situation.
The center tries to serve these children in all possible ways
by providing free equipments like wheel-chair etc. whenever
necessary. |
